Map Questions

Who makes the maps?

Our maps are primarily sourced from the archives of government departments whose content is in the public domain. From there, Explorers Maps optimizes them for print.  We then work with a partner that produces our maps individually for each order. 

Are your maps originals or reproductions?

All of our maps are individually created, giclée print reproductions on durable 10.3 mil thick matte paper.

My map came rolled in its packaging. How do I flatten it?

We recommend laying the map face down on a clean, flat surface using the tissue paper included in the packaging as a barrier between your map and the surface. From there, lay books on top of the map for a few hours - this will leave you with a map ready to display.

How should I display my map?

We highly recommend framing your maps to preserve their quality as the fine-art ink used is designed to last +80 years. At this time, Explorers Maps does not sell frames and they must be purchased separately.

Shipping Questions

How much do you charge for shipping?

We're happy to offer free worlwide shipping to our customers.

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

Usually it takes 3-7 days to print and fulfill your order, then 3-4 business days for an order to ship to locations in Canada and the United States. For estimates of shipping times for other regions, please see our shipping policy.

How do I track my order?

You'll receive a tracking link via email as soon as your order ships.

What happens if the estimated time has gone by and I haven't received my order?

First, check your email for shipping confirmations and to ensure there are no errors in the delivery address. If the shipping address was correct and the package wasn't left at the post office or your neighbors, please email corey@explorersmaps.com with your order number and we'd be happy to help.

Returns Questions

What is your return policy?

We're here to ensure the quality of all our products and have a 21-day return policy, which means you have 21 days after receiving your item to request a return. All requests can be initiated by emailing corey@explorersmaps.com.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase (sent via email).

If the product is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, please send photos of the issue in your email, and once reviewed we can process a refund, no return required.

If the product is in the condition as advertised, and you have changed your mind about the purchase, you're able to initiate a return to receive a refund, but need to cover the shipping costs associated with the return.

Once you've mailed the product to the return location, please send a photo of the shipping confirmation and we can issue the refund.
